Answer:

you just need to key in these numbers into your calculator:

T1 = a

=43.8

T2= 43.8 + (2-1)(-1.2)

T3= 43.8 + (3-1)(-1.2)

T4= 43.8 + (4-1)(-1.2)

Explanation:

in AP, you need to know [Tn= a + (n-1)d]

now in this case, a= Term1 or T1

n= number of terms (eg. T8)

d= differences (the differences

between 2 terms)

step1: analyse what hint is given to u

given:

T10 = 33

T22 = -3

then the question asked for first 4 terms :

T1, T2, T3 and T4, meaning these r the ones you need to find

step2: use what u have

in this problem, you hv no choice but to use simultaneous equation (im using substitution method btw cause i dont know how to do elimination method :D)

Tn= a + (n-1) d

fisrt, im gonne do equation for term 10/T10=33

T10= a + (10-1)d

33 = a +9d (bring 9d to the other side or over "=")

a = 33-9d ----- equation 1

Tn= a + (n-1) d

next, im gonne do equation for term 22/T22= -3

T22= a + (22-1)d

-3 = a + 21d (bring 21d to the other side or over

"=")

a = -3-21d ----- equation 2

step3: subs. equation1 = equation2 by substitution

a = a

33+9d = -3-21d

21d+9d = -3-33

30d = -36

d = -1.2

now ypu have d value, sub it into any equation you like. for me, i used equation 1

sub d = -1.2 into equation 1, a = 33 -9d

a = 33 - 9( -1.2)

=43.8

Therefore,

T1/a = 43.8

now, for the rest of the terms hv already been typed for you (above, under the answer word). all you hv to do now is to key it into your calculator :D
