(2×n) + (2×-3) = 4n+1

2n + (-6) = 4n + 1

2n - 6 = 4n + 1

2n - 6+6 = 4n + 1 + 6

2n = 4n + 7

2n - 4n = 4n - 4n + 7

-2n = 7

-2n/-2 = 7/-2

n = -3 1/2
