Bethany bought 42 liters of water for the running team. There are 16 members on the team. If each member gets an equal amount of water, how many liters does each memberget?​

If 42 liters of water are being shared equally among 16 people, the problem would look like 42/16. These do not divide evenly so expect a decimal.

42 liters divided by 16 people on the running team would mean that each person would get 2.625 or 2.63 liters of water.

You can check your work by multiplying 2.625 by 16 which will give you the original amount of water in the equation.
