you can simple set up a proportion
0.5 0.25
__ = ____
x 4
so 2/.25 is 0.5 or 1/2

ans: 8cm
1/2 = 0.5
1/4 = 0.25
0.5/0.25 = 2
4cm x 2 = 8cm
