Explanation:

f(x)=2x+1

f(1)=2(1)+1

f(1)=2+1

f(1)=3

g(x)=7/4 x+1

g(-4)=7/4 (-4)+1

g(-4)=-7+1

g(-4)=-6

f(1)-g(-4)=3-(-6)

=3+6

=9
