1/3 is the same as 2/6, so we can rewrite this as:
-5/6 + 1/3 = -5/6 + 2/6
To add fractions, add the numerators:
-5 + 2 = -3
So, -5/6 + 2/6 = -3/6
This can reduce, since 3 and 6 are divisible by 3.
-3/6 = -1/2
