Answer:

A) Plant C is 0.80 times as tall as plant B

B)So, plant C is 16/15 inches shorter than plant B

Explanation:

First, let's find the size of each plant

Plant B is 16/3 tall, but let's write that as a mixed number.

16 ÷ 3 = 5.333 or 5 1/3

Plant C is 4/5 the size of plant B

4/5 is the same as the decimal 0.80

0.80 is the same as 80%

That means plant C is 80% of the size of plant b

So let's multiply 0.8 times 5.333 to find out the size of plant C

0.8 times 5.333 = 64/15

So plant C is 64/15 tall

So, we have the answer to question A

Plant C is 0.80 times as tall as plant B

Now, question B

To find out exactly how many inches shorter plant is C is, let's give plant B the same denominator as plant C

16/3 can also be written as 80/15

We got that by multiplying 3 by 5 and 16 by 5

So plant B is 80/15 and plant C is 64/15

80/15 - 64/15 = 16/15

So, plant C is 16/15 inches shorter than plant B

Answer:

about 6.67 times as tall (i think so, please wait for another opinion tho because im not that good at that kinda math!)

Explanation:

for "times as tall" you have to divide c from b i think sooo

16/3 / 4/5

so were have to flip 4/5 and make it multiply cause you cant really divide something if its also being divided (for fractions)

16/3(5/4)

80/12 i think

hmmm

about 6.67

then for taller or shorter you have to minus or add them

i kinda want you to try this first, ill tell you how to do it but try on your own! if you still cant do it reply!

so to add or minus it they need to have the same denominators
