As stated in the preamble,There are 6 main goals of the constitution :

to form more perfect union

establish justice

insure domestic tranquility

provide for the common defense

promote the general welfare

secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity .

it's main goal is to protect the people's right.
