\\ \rm\rightarrowtail 2x-8=110


\\ \rm\rightarrowtail 2x=110+8


\\ \rm\rightarrowtail 2x=118


\\ \rm\rightarrowtail x=59

Theorem: vertical angles are equal

⇒ 2x - 8 = 110

Add 8 to both sides:

⇒ 2x - 8 + 8 = 110 + 8

⇒ 2x = 118

Divide both sides by 2:

⇒ 2x ÷ 2 = 118 ÷ 2

⇒ x = 59
