as you can see as i solved above. all you need to do was to rationalize the both equations

x is 5

Explanation:

$(4x - 5)/(9x - 5) = (3)/(8) \\ \\ 8(4x - 5) = 3(9x - 5) \\ 32x - 40 = 27x - 15 \\ 5x = 25 \\ x = (25)/(5) \\ \\ x = 5$
