one number is 4 less than 3 times another number. If their sum is increased by five,the result is 25. Find both the numbers.

Answer:

6 and 14

Explanation:

let the second number=x

the first number=3x-4

(x+3x-4)+5=25

4x-4+5=25

4x+1=25

4x=25-1

4x=24

x=6

Since x is the first number,the first number is 6

second number=3•6-4

=18-4=14
