Answer:

x = 57.2

Explanation:

first : the third angle is (the sum of all angles in a triangle is always 180 degrees) : 180 - 90 - 40 = 50 degrees.

law of sines :

x/sin(50) = 48/sin(40)

x = 48 × (sin(50)/sin(40)) = 57.2

\\ \sf\longmapsto tan\Theta=(P)/(B)

\\ \sf\longmapsto tan40=(48)/(x)

\\ \sf\longmapsto 0.8=(48)/(x)

\\ \sf\longmapsto 0.8x=48

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=(48)/(0.8)

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=60
