(x)/(3) - 1 = 2 (
(x)/(4) - 3 ) ← distribute parenthesis by 2


(x)/(3) - 1 =
(x)/(2) - 6 ( multiply through by 6 to clear the fractions )

2x - 6 = 3x - 36 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

- 6 = x - 36 ( add 36 to both sides )

30 = x
