The trinomial x²−4x+4 is a perfect square. By factoring and finding the square roots, what values of x make the equation x2−4x+4=1 true?

x²−4x+4 = (x-2)²

x²−4x+4 = 1

(x-2)² = 1

x-2 = ±√1

x = 1+2 or =-1+2

= 3 or = 1
