Susan is 32

If Steve is 37, all you have to do is subtract 5 from 37 to find.

Answer:

s = Susan's current age

t = Tom's current age

Susan is 3 years older than Tom

s = t + 3 {equation 1}

Two years ago Susan was twice as old as Tom

s - 2 = 2(t-2)

s -2 = 2t - 4

s = 2t -2 {equation 2}

Since s = t + 3 and s = 2t-2 then...

t +3 = 2t - 2

5 = t

Tom is 5 years old

s = t + 3 = 8

Susan is 8 years old
