Domain and Range

The domain of a relation tells us the possible x-values.

The range of a relation tells us the possible y-values.

When we're given a set of data, we can find the domain or range by simply naming the x-values or y-values, respectively.

It is preferred that we order the values from least to greatest.

Solving the Question

We are asked to find the range of the relation. This means that we need to name all the y-values of the given data:

2, 4, 5, 2, 9, -5

Notice how the y-values of 2 occurs twice. We only have to name it once:

2, 4, 5, 9, -5

Now, order the numbers from least to greatest:

-5, 2, 4, 5, 9

Answer

The range of this relation is {-5, 2, 4, 5, 9}.
