1.) "The North's strategy to win the Civil War was proposed by General Winfield Scott and is known as "The Anaconda Plan." The reason the strategy was called "The Anaconda Plan" was because it was to create a blockade for seaports so the manufactured goods or cotton sales coming from overseas would be cut off. Along with this plan, was to gain control of the Mississippi River because it the was the South's main transportation and also to divide the South into two parts. After in doing this, the Union also wanted to capture the city of Richmond, which was the capital city of the confederate states because the South's command lines would be disturbed if the capital city was captured by the Union."

2.) "Charleston was also destroyed a short time after and Sherman’s army marched on into North Carolina. Impact of the Civil War on South Carolina were that the cost of the Civil War was high."
