the solution is using the Pythagorean theorem (a^2 + b^2 = c^2)

so distance "A" = x1-x2 which is 4 - (-4) in your problem = 8


a^2 + b^2 = c^2


8^2 + b^2 = c^2

"B" = y1-y2 = -5 - 2 = -7


8^2 + (-7)^2 = c^2

64 + 49 = c^2

c^2 = 113

c =
√(113)
