b = 2
Rearrange:
3b - 13 = -b - 5
Eliminate b from right side:
3b - 13 + b = -b - 5 + b
4b - 13 = -5
Eliminate 13 on the left:
4b - 13 + 13 = -5 + 13
4b = 8
Simplify:
8 / 4 = 2
b = 2
