Answer:

Length = 36cm

Width = 12 cm

Explanation:

Perimeter = all the sides added up.

Perimeter of a rectangle = L + L + W + W OR 2L + 2W

We are given that the length = 3 times the width. So L = 3W

P = 2L + 2W

96 = 2 (3W) + 2W

96 = 6W +2W

96 = 8W (divide both sides by 8)

W = 12 cm

To find the length- we know the length is 3 times the width.

So L = 3 x 12 = 36 cm
