Solution:

The general form of a line is equation is:


Ax+By=C

We have,


y+6=-(5)/(2)(x+4)

Multiply both sides by 2.


2(y+6)=-5(x+4)


2(y)+2(6)=-5(x)-5(4)


2y+12=-5x-20

Isolating variable terms, we get


2y+5x=-20-12


5x+2y=-32

Therefore, the general form of the given linear equation is
5x+2y=-32.
