separate the biggest root ( √8 ):


{ \tt{ = 8 √(2) + 2 √(4 * 2) }} \\ = { \tt{ 8 √(2) + (2 * 2) √(2) }} \\ = { \tt{8 √(2) + 4 √(2) }}

factorise √2 out:


= { \tt{(8 + 4) √(2) }} \\ \\ = { \bf{12 √(2) }}
