Answer:

a) surface area: 125pi volume: 187.5pi

b) (i dont know what you mean by "in terms of ." so ill give both)

surface area: 210pi or 659.734 volume: 61.25pi or 192.422

Explanation:

a) surface area is this

2pirh+2pir^2

plug it in..

2pi(5)(7.5)+2pi(5)^2

simplify...

75pi+50pi

125pi

volume is this

pir^2h

plug it in...

pi(5)^2(7.5)

simplify...

187.5pi

b is basically same steps.

(i had to replace all the pi symbols with "pi" because it was inappropriate???)

Cylinder A -

Surface Area:

A = 2πrh + 2πr^2

A = 2 · π · 5 · 7.5 + 2 · π · 25 ≈ 392.69908

A = 392.7 cm^2

Volume:

V = πr^2h

V = π · 25 · 7.5 ≈ 589.04862

V = 589 cm^3

Cylinder B -

Surface Area:

A = 2πrh + 2πr^2

A = 2 · π · 3.5 · 5 + 2 · π · 12.25 ≈ 186.92476

A = 186.9 cm^2

Volume:

V = πr^2h

V = π · 12.25 · 5 ≈ 192.42255

V = 192.4 cm^3
