An art student is mixing blue paint with yellow paint to create a special color. For every 6 gallons of blue paint, they need 4 gallons of yellow paint.

How much yellow paint will they need if they use 30 gallons of blue paint?

Answer:

20 gallons of yellow paint.

Explanation:

4/6 = x/30 is the equation.

4 represents yellow paint.

6 represents blue paint.

We know 30 gallon of blue paints was used.

But we dont know x , the amount of yellow paint.

Criss cross bottom to top

6× X = 4×30

6x= 120

x=20
