The equation to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius is 5(F-32)/9, where F is your given temperature in Fahrenheit.

Plug in -55 for F

5(-55-32)/9 = °C

Solve according to PEMDAS

5(-87)/9 = °C
-435/9 = °C
-48.333 = °C

So, -55°F = -48.3 °C
