Two square pyramids are similar.

The sides of the bases are 4 cm and
12 cm. The height of the smaller
pyramid is 6 cm. Find the height of
the larger pyramid.

Explanation:

Since the pyramids are similar then the ratio of corresponding sides are equal, that is

12 ÷ 4 = 3

Then the height of the larger pyramid is 3 times the height of the smaller.

height of larger pyramid = 3 × 6 = 18 cm
