A rectangle is to be drawn with perimeter 64cm. If the length is to be 14cm more than the width, determine the are of the rectangle.

Please use system of linear equations by elimination OR substitution. I need the work as well please.

P = 64 cm

2(( x + 14) + x) = 64

2x + 28 + 2x = 64

4x + 28 = 64

4x = 64 - 28

4x = 36

x = 36/4

x = 4

width = 4

lenight = 18

area = l x b

area = 18 x 4

area = 72
