CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY MATH PROBLEM PLEASE I'VE BEEN STUCK ON THIS FOR A WHILE

Subtract a number from -2 so that the difference is equal to: the numerical reciprocal of -2

The reciprocal of -2 would be 1/2, so to subtract a number from -2 to equal 1/2 we should put it in an equation

-2 - x = 1/2
Now cancel out the -2 by adding 2

-x = 2 1/2
Then multiply -x by -1 and do the same on the other side

X= -2 1/2

The NR of -2 is -0.5. So you would need to subtract -2.5
