Lipase is an enzyme that helps in the catalysis of the hydrolysis of fats and other carboxylic acid esters. Lipases act/functions according to the substrate molecule constituent and how similar the chemical linkages are.

Lipase action on fats and carboxylic esters which are different molecules but with similar chemical constituents and bonds explains enzyme action only some unique bonds in a compound.
