One of the concerns of the founding fathers -in this case, Antifederalist Thomas Jefferson- was the rights of the citizens.

As we know, he opposed the creation of a strong central government that could end up being a dictatorship, as was the case of the English monarchy.

That is why he supported a simpler form of government in which the states remained sovereign and the citizens could have many rights such as freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

In the case of the freedom of the press, this is the best way to guarantee American people are informed about everything.
