After being criticized by Elizabeth, Darcy alters his behavior. He begins to make great effort to socialize with strangers, even if they are not in his same social rank. He also becomes more capable of forgiveness, which is evident in the way he chooses to accept Elizabeth's criticism instead of being offended by it. Darcy humbles himself and opens his mind to the fact that his manners can be reproachable and that his pride can hinder relationships.
