Consider the below figure attached with this question.

To find:

The length of PQ in meters.

Solution:

In the below figure,


PU=SR=4\ m


QU=ST=8\ m

Using Pythagoras theorem in triangle PQU, we get


PQ^2=PU^2+QU^2


PQ^2=(4)^2+(8)^2


PQ^2=16+64


PQ^2=80

Taking square root on both sides, we get


PQ=√(80)
