The cube with the larger surface area is solid A ( option A)

Conversion occurs between units of thesame quantity. For example the units of time are second , minutes and hours.

60 seconds = 1 minute

60 minutes = 1hr

3.28ft = 1m

5m = 3.28 × 5

= 16.4 ft

surface area of cube = 6l

surface area of solid A = 6 × 17 = 102ft²

surface area of solid B = 6 × 16.4 = 98.4ft²

Therefore solid A has a larger surface area

Answer:

Solid A

Explanation:

The formula to find the surface area of a cube = 6a²

Where a = side length

Solid A = 17ft

For solid A, surface area = 6 × (17 ft)²

= 1734 ft²

For Solid B

the conversion factor 3.28ft/ 1 m

Solid B = 5m

Hence, converting 5m to ft

= 5m × 3.28ft

= 16.4 ft

Therefore, the surface area of solid B = 6 × (16.4 ft)²

= 1613.76 ft²

Therefore, from the above calculation, cube that has the larger surface area is Solid A
