Answer:

EF=8

Explanation:

HG=x-3

CD=x

EF=2x-2

Since HG is 3 less than CD, EF has to be 3 more than CD

x+3=2x-2

3+2=2x-x

5=x

x=5

HG=2

CD=5

EF=8

CD = (HG + EF)/(2) \Leftrightarrow EF = 2CD - HG

2x - 2 = 2x - x + 3\\2x - 2x + x = 3 + 2\\x = 5

EF = 2 * 5 - 2 = 10 - 2 = 8

Answer: 8.
