What are the examples Quindlen uses to claim that America has not been a nation

Answer:

Shortening it down, because all of these lines will work, lines 100-102 say that you end up drawing a map of world with all the people from the World Trade Center destruction, and with that, those people all live in America, all representing us, even with their differences. It once again shows that we are all different, yet we are all living here. Also, within the position of the text, it's hinting at the writing being wrote during a time of distress, with the last two lines saying that "when it works, it's a wonder," showing that with that distress, that is when we all work best together, and come together as one, even with our individualism.
