The cold war started after the end of WW2 after the Axis lost and eastern Europe was given to the Soviet Union and the West is the Allies, the Soviet Union did not give any freedom to any eastern Europe country and did not have a lot of independence the only ones that had control were Yugoslavia and Albania which started the Cold War.
