Answer:

3x + y =0

Explanation:

We need to create equation whose solution is (-1,3) . So let another point through which it passes be ( 0,0) .

  • Since at least two points are required for making a line .

Slope :-

=> m = -1-0/3-0

=> m = -1/3

Using point slope form :-

=> ( x - x1) = m( y - y1)

=> ( x - (-1)) = -1/3( y - 3)

=> (x + 1 )3= -y + 3

=> 3x +3 = -y + 3

=> 3x + y = 0

✔️ Checking :-

  • (-1,3)

=> 3(-1) + 3 = 0

=> -3+3=0

=> 0 = 0

Hence the equation can be 3x + y = 0 .
