What happens during nondisjunction?

Nondisjunction is when chromosomes fail to separate during anaphase of cell division (can occur in mitosis or meiosis). This results in both of the chromosome copies going to one daughter cell while the other daughter cell doesn’t receive a copy.

Let me know if you require more detail about mechanism. (I.e. proteins involved in proper chromosome division)
