Read this excerpt from A Black Hole is NOT a Hole,

Which question does the paragraph answer?
O How does light behave in a black hole?
O When does a black hole get formed?
O How do different types of black holes form?
o Where are black holes located?
If the star was spinning before the collapse, then the
black hole will spin, too. If the collapse is perfectly
symmetric, a smooth black hole forms. On the other
hand, even a slightly lopsided collapse leads to a lumpy
black hole, with erratic gravitational effects. The gravity
might be strong in some places and weak in others, and
pull in different directions. However, a lumpy hole won't
stay lumpy for long, because its own gravity will work to
smooth it out.
