1 - (1)/(1-x)

Explanation:


(x^(2) -x-2)/(x^(2) -2x+1) *
(x-1)/(x+1) =


((x-2)(x+1))/((x-1)^(2) )*
(x-1)/(x+1) =


(x-2)/(x-1) * 1 =
(x-2)/(x-1)

If you want to simplify even more:


1 - (1)/(1-x)
