Explanation:

`(x^(2) -x-2)/(x^(2) -2x+1)` *
`(x-1)/(x+1)` =

`((x-2)(x+1))/((x-1)^(2) )`*
`(x-1)/(x+1)` =

`(x-2)/(x-1) * 1` =
`(x-2)/(x-1)`

If you want to simplify even more:

`1 - (1)/(1-x)`
