The point-slope formula is
(y-y_(1)) = m(x-x_(1) )

  • (
    x_(1) ,y_(1)) is (1,2)
  • m = -8/9

Now let's plug in the values:

y -2 = -(8)/(9) (x-1)

To put it into slope-intercept form, we have to solve for y and put all other variables and constants onto one side

y - 2 =- (8)/(9) (x-1)\\y =- (8)/(9) x+(8)/(9) +2\\y = - (8)/(9) x+(8)/(9) + (18)/(9)\\ y = -(8)/(9) x+(26)/(9)

Hope that helps!
