Suppose a city with population 340,000 has been growing at a rate of 4% per year. If this rate continues, find the population of this city in 20 years.

Answer:

Total population = 340000

Growing rate = 4%

Growing population = 340000×4/100

= 13600 per year

Now population increased in 20 years = 13600 × 20 = 272000 population.

Now ,

The population after 20 years = 340000+272000

=612000

So the population after 20 years = 612000
