There are 14 math teachers and 26 science teachers at school today. What is the ratio of math teachers to math and science teachers at school?

40 equals the total amount of teachers. Since we want to do the ratio of math teachers to the total of all teachers, we had to find 40.

You get 14:20 though if you want to simplify, find to common denominator (2) and dived both sides by it.

14/2 = 7

40/2 = 20

= 7:20
