"Gallons per hour" means to divide gallons by hours. Even the label can be a reminder of what to do:

Now for the math...


4(5)/(16) / 1.25 =4(5)/(16) / 1(1)/(4)

Changing both numbers to mixed number form helps. (You could also change both numbers to decimals--a calculator would help!)

Change mixed numbers to improper fractions, then divide.


(69)/(4) / (5)/(4)=\\\\(69)/(4) * (4)/(5)=\\\\\\(69)/(5)=13.8
