We need the value of x for which the function is undefined

To get ,make the denominator 0 and solve for x,we get vertical asymptotes by this

  • 2x+18=0
  • 2(x+9)=0
  • x=-9

A vertical asymptote at x=-9

Answer:

  • x = - 9

Explanation:

In order to find the vertical asymptotes make the denominator equal to zero and solve:

  • 2x + 18 = 0
  • 2x = - 18
  • x = - 9

There is one vertical asymptote since the denominator is linear expression
