x=(-5+√(33) )/(2) and
x=(-5-√(33) )/(2)

Explanation:

x = [-b±√(b²-4ac)]/2a

x = [-(-5)±√((-5)²-4(1)(-2))]/2(1)

x = [5±√(25+8)]/2

x= [-5±√(33)]/2

Therefore:


x=(-5+√(33) )/(2) and
x=(-5-√(33) )/(2)
