Answer: Y=-5x+3

Explanation:

first slope= 0 on the x axis so -2-3=-5

to get 3 you can do 4-1=3 or 7-4 or even 1-(-2)!

Correct answer:
y = 3x -5

You don't have to use the whole table in order to find equation. You can use just two points on the table to start.

In order to find the slope, the formula for that is:
(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2) - x_(1)). So, we can start with points (1, -2) and (2, 1). Label (1, -2) as
x_(1) and
y_(1); label (2, 1) as
x_(2) and
y_(2). Now we can plug the numbers into the formula.

(1-(-2))/(2 - 1)
(3)/(1)
3 is the slope.

To find the y-intercept, substitute (1, -2) into
y = 3x + b.

(-2) = 3(1) + b

-2 = 3 + b

-3
-3

________

b = -5 is the y-intercept.

Thus, the slope-intercept equation is
y = 3x -5. Hope this helps :) Let me know if you have any other questions related to this problem!
