The given shape is a parallelogram

suppose KL || NM:

We can write the following equation

m<K = m<M and

8x + 17 = 12x - 39 transfer like terms to the same side of the equation

17 + 39 = 12x - 8x

56 = 4x divide both sides by 4

14 = x

Now to find the measure of n:

again suppose KL || NM then m<K + m<N = 180

m<K = 8*14 + 17 since we found x = 14

8*14 + 17 = 129 and m<N

180 - 129 = 51
