Explanation:

ok so first you wanna make sure you isolate variables, to find x you get

2x+7=5y-9

2x=5y-2

x=(5y-2)/2

plug that into the equation, then you get the y value, which you can put into the equation again (by equation i mean 2x+7=5y-9)

then you have both x and y

2x+7+−7=5y−9+−72x=5y−16

Step 2: Divide both sides by 2.
